I offer advisory services, workshops and talks to resident groups, municipalities, advisors and developers who want to create the conditions for thriving cohousing communities.
I am an architect MAA with many years of experience from private practices, where I have designed housing, led development and renovation projects in schools, and gained experience from the municipal side with urban planning, user and citizen participation.
I was a co-initiator of the cohousing community Lange Eng in Albertslund – where I still live – and have deep experience with the process from idea to move-in and everyday life in a cohousing community.
I also serve on the board of Foreningen Bofællesskab.dk, am active in the Nordic KOBB Network for building and cohousing communities across Scandinavia, and teach and serve as an examiner on the Project Pilot education programme for Föreningen för byggemenskaper in Sweden.
Finding common direction and creating frameworks that hold – both in the start-up phase and over the long term – is a complex process with many stakeholders and interests at play.
As an external facilitator I have no stake in the project. This allows me to ask the difficult questions, create space where all voices are heard, and balance different wishes and needs.
More municipalities want to support the development of cohousing, but the process requires knowledge of organisation, user processes and physical frameworks.
Developing cohousing requires more than good homes. I help create projects where community, organisation and physical frameworks work together.
I give targeted talks on cohousing for different audiences – from seniors considering cohousing, to municipalities and advisors working on the development of community housing.
Talks can include topics such as:
